Preparing Glasgow To Host Fashion Week 2007
Glasgow is getting ready for its close-up at a four-day festival of fashion as several emerging fashion designers will get the opportunity to showcase their talents along with the top high-street collections at Fashion Week 2007. The city will be home to an annual four-day event which will bring together top designers, high-street collections and unknown fashion designers in a mix of catwalk shows, workshops, and seminars at the end of March in George Square.
George Square will be style central for the showcase event, with a marquee for the glamour runway shows, and a big-screen for the public to watch interviews and behind-the-scenes action.
The week, to be held annually, re-affirms the city’s reputation as “Scotland with Style”. Its director, Yemi Adegite, said: “We took inspiration from local fashion weeks such as São Paulo in Brazil which have been very successful.” Read more!
Actress and model, Sienna Miller is planning on launching her very own fashion label with her big designer-sister Savannah Miller. They plan to launch an 80 piece ready-to-wear fashion collection called ‘Twenty8Twelve’, based on Sienna’s birthday of December 28th, for fall 2007. Sienna clarified that she has always loved fashion, and Savannah got a first in design at Saint Martins and further thought to pursue it together, but happened organically. According to The Bosh, the notoriously private Savannah said of their new project: “People wanted us to put the line in our names, but we wanted it to be more abstract.”

Irene Galitzine, the Russian-Italy’s “fashion princess” who created the ‘palazzo pajama’ and changed the way women dressed at home, whose gowns clothed Jacqueline Kennedy, Sophia Loren and Audrey Hepburn, died on Friday, Ansa news agency said. She was 88. The Russian aristocrat died in her sleep in her house in the Italian capital shortly before dawn, said her long-time assistant and spokeswoman Angela Savarese. The cause of death was not immediately known.





Sportswear giant Reebok have signed a multi-million dollar deal with Scarlett Johansson to help create their Scarlett ‘Hearts’ Rbk range - a new “high-end signature line of retro-chic footwear and clothing”. “Reebok has a rich heritage in developing and designing cutting-edge women’s product which makes them an ideal company to partner with to launch Scarlett ‘Hearts’ Rbk,” the 21-year-old actress said in a statement. “I am very enthusiastic about working with Reebok to design this line.”
