Bryan Ferry, New Model of Marks & Spencer
THE rock singer Bryan Ferry has been unveiled as the latest famous face to promote Marks and Spencer’s menswear range. The retailer is hoping the Roxy Music frontman will boost sales of its Autograph clothing range. Ferry said: “Marks & Spencer is a great British brand and I’m very happy to be associated with it.”
Bryan Ferry is no stranger to the fashion world himself, having collaborated for many years with fashion designer Antony Price - famous for his shop on London’s Kings Road.
Marks & Spencer marketing executive director Steven Sharp said: “He’s a real British style icon and looks amazing in the Autograph range. What man wouldn’t want to look as cool as Bryan Ferry?”
The Roxy Music singer was photographed by legendary snapper David Bailey for the High Street store’s autumn campaign, which will be called ‘Autograph’. The adverts will appear across the country from September. He replaces a trio of sports pundits who modelled the Autograph summer collection - Jamie Redknapp, Alan Hansen and Ian Wright.
Ferry, who models a variety of smart tailoring looks for the campaign, including suits by Timothy Everest and shirts by Nigel Hall, said: “I’m really pleased to be working with M&S and to be their autumn face of Autograph. It was great to work with such an icon as David Bailey on the shoot. Marks and Spencer is a great British brand and I’m very happy to be associated with it.”
Ferry’s sons OTIS and ISAAC recently joined KATE MOSS in advertising posters for fashion house Burberry.
