Auditions For a New Fashion File Host
To all Halifax fashionistas, prepare yourself, CBC Television is holding a national search for a new Fashion File host and auditions will be held in Halifax on Sept. 27. Fashion File: Host Hunt” will travel across the country testing hopefuls on their knowledge of fashion and style to replace longtime host Tim Blanks, who is leaving the show as the voice of the influential show after 17 years. Ten finalists will then be flown to Toronto to compete for this dream job.
They are looking for knowledgeable and stylish individuals who can write for TV and print. It’s best to read all the contest details before auditioning. If you can’t make the auditions you can mail in your application.
There will be open casting calls all across the country and the new host will travel the globe to bring viewers the buzz on trendsetters and fashion newsmakers, take viewers backstage to meet celebrated designers and inside the hallowed halls of design houses such as Gucci, Chanel and Prada.
FASHION FILE:HOST HUNT will air on CBC Television in January 2007. This is a chance for fashion fanatics to demonstrate their passion for the industry and their vision for making runway fashion wearable. And the new host must be able to translate what the designers are presenting on the runways and explain the trends so that viewers can achieve the looks on a budget they can afford.
Toronto’s turn is October 10, 11 & 12 at the CBC building on Front Street. You’ll need to sign in between 9:00 a.m. and noon, auditions start at 10:00 a.m.

Halifax - Sept. 27, auditions at 10 a.m., CBC Television Building, 1840 Bell Rd.
Montreal - Sept. 29 and Sept. 30, auditions at 10 a.m., CBC Montreal, 1400 Rene Levesque Blvd. East.
Calgary - Oct. 2, auditions at 10 a.m., CBC Calgary, 1724 Westmount Blvd. N.W.
Vancouver - Oct. 4 and Oct. 5, auditions 10 a.m., CBC Vancouver, 700 Hamilton St.
Toronto - Oct. 10, Oct. 11 and Oct. 12, auditions at 10 a.m., CBC Toronto, 250 Front St. West.
