Celebrities Lingerie Looking at L.A. Fashion Week

Los Angeles Fashion Week aims to celebrate local designers with 35 shows over a week-long period, from the innovative tailoring of Louis Verdad to red carpet favorite Kevan Hall to jeans makers Rock & Republic and Antik Denim with various others from New York and the U.K. in the mix for good measure.

The collection opened on a wedding theme, as a veiled model in an ivory brassiere and garter tossed her bouquet at her similarly attired bridesmaids in shades of pink, blue and peach. Later, leggy models in thongs and tasseled pasties strutted the catwalk with whips in hand.

Cher, singer Love, a platinum blond Christina Aguilera and the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ frontman Anthony Kiedis took in the Los Angeles runway debut of London-based lingerie line Agent Provocateur on Monday night. Read more!

Hip-Hop Stars At Olympus Fashion Week

Shaunya Hartley a stylist who has worked with singers Lauryn Hill and Usher, said designers ignored hip-hop fashion at first, but have tapped into the trend more than ever this season.
As their profile grows, some of the styles are becoming a bit more mainstream - and restrained.

“The slut is out and the prude is in,” said Hartley after attending runway shows in New York City’s Bryant Park this week. “There’s a return to modest dresses, with longer pants and sleeves. It’s sexy and subtle. A lot of women singers are looking more like movie stars.”
Hartley sees no end in sight in fashion lines from hip hop and other pop artists.

Designer Nanette Lepore On New York Fashion Week

Designer Nanette Lepore will be the first designer to write daily entries and upload photos to share her experience organizing a fashion show with fashion insiders and also directly with consumers. From initial fittings to testing makeup on models to doing the lineup for her fall collection to be shown on Tuesday, Feb. 7, Lepore allows her audience an insider glimpse into her show. However, unlike static stories posted on other websites or in print magazines, Lepore’s posts will let users jump in on the fashion conversation- adding comments and discussing topics raised in her dispatches.

New York Fashion Week become more interactive and accessible to a wide audience of fashion-industry insiders and consumers signals a significant shift in the industry by Glam’s website move. Glam.com is one of the leading fashion and style website for shopping, has joined forces with top designer Nanette Lepore to publish her blog, a first in the fashion industry. Lepore said, “I’m thrilled to join the Glam Blog Network and offer my point of view on design and Fashion Week. It’s a terrific experience, and I hope people enjoy my dispatches.”

From the Grammy Award, have you choose which celeb was the most fashionable? Alicia Keys and Teri Hatcher vied for the sexiest dress award Wednesday night.

Teri Hatcher’s plum-colored dress with lace panels by Jean Paul Gaultier was sheer to the point that the boy-briefs she wore underneath the gown were clearly visible. Curly hair and strands of pearls completed her wild-girl look. Hatcher said, “The Grammys always push the envelope with fashion and that’s what I’m doing”.

Giorgio Armani Fashion For Turin Torch

Designer veteran Giorgio Armani swapped his trademark black T-shirt for a bright orange-and-white shellsuit on Sunday and carry the Olympic torch through Milan’s fashion district on its route to Turin.

I certainly wouldn’t have designed it with these colors. These aren’t even wintry colors. They are kind of Mexican,” as he told Reuters while he waited for the torch to be lit on Via Montenapoleone. Read more!
