It happened all of a sudden, beginning with the spring fashion shows, and now it’s a must-have. They’re great for day wear as a fashion statement or maybe just to hide too-messy tresses. And they’re perfect for nightlife because they add a fabulous flourish to any ensemble.

Hat makers are tipping their own hats to the new look; they’re taking the old school fedoras and adding fresh colors, funky embellishments and ribbon detailing. They can be worn to the side, with brims partially flipped up, with brims completely down, low on the brow, or with a headscarf neatly wrapped underneath. And when selecting your fedora, be sure to take your inspiration from Katharine Hepburn, not Britney Spears.

Music Stars For The Red Hot Fashion

As part of the annual Red Dress Collection, some music stars strutted their stuff for a new crowd Friday: the fashion editors, stylists and retailers at New York Fashion Week.
Sheryl Crow, Lindsay Lohan, LeAnn Rimes, Lee Ann Womack and other singing stars and soem celebrities are modeled red dresses created by top designers staged by The National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute to raise awareness about women and heart disease.

Fashion-wise, Rimes, in Zac Posen’s spaghetti-strap gown with a tightly pleated bust and high-front slit, Sheryl Crow in a scarf-style halter dress by Ralph Lauren and Milian in a flowing gown with jeweled straps by Max Azria Atelier were among the best dressed. Read more!

Hijab, among muslim today, is often equated with piety, both by those who cover their hair and those who do not.
Unfortunately, too many assume that a woman who covers must naturally be more religious or conservative that one who does not. This generates expectations and pressure on Muslim women in hijab , whose behavior is held to different standards, perhaps undesired on the part of the woman.

On the other hand, according to popular opinion, the Muslim woman who does not cover her hair (even if she is otherwise dressed modestly) has not quite arrived at the perceived goal of all righteous believing women.
